Planning permission has been granted for an extension and remodelling for a nineteenth century cottage in Oxfordshire. The building stands in a secluded spot within the conservation area of the village but situated away from any listed buildings.
Its position means that we will be able to carry out meaningful improvements to the cottage. This includes replacing a poorly insulated pitched roof extension with a thermally efficient, flat-roofed one. We can enhance the flow of the ground floor and connection to the garden by opening up the current cellular spaces.
The energy efficiency of the original cottage will be greatly improved with internal and external insulation and replacing the existing glazing with double and triple glazed windows.
