Pre-cut timber I beam system

As part of our commitment to sustainability, we have refined an in-house, pre-cut timber frame system over the past decade, aimed at improving affordability, construction efficiency and environmental performance. Having worked with numerous timber frame suppliers in the past, we found that limited control over design decisions and on-site coordination often led to compromise. Bringing the process in-house has allowed us to manage closer integration between design, fabrication and construction.

During the design process, we build a complete 3D timber model, with every structural element referenced within a coordinated spreadsheet. The design is optimised for efficient timber use from the outset. This information is then processed through optimisation software and exported directly to a CNC cutting machine. Each timber element is cut, labelled and stacked in the sequence required for assembly on site.

On a recent project, material waste was reduced to 0.6%. Because clients pay only for the timber used, the approach can also offer meaningful cost savings compared with more conventional methods.
