We’ve received planning permission for a house in a small village on a considerable sized plot and amazing views across a valley. As we find with many buildings the thermal efficiency of the existing fabric is poor and the cellular plan and overall configuration represents considerable constraints for modern family living.
We will install high standards of insulation and glazing, consider the thermal mass of the building materials, include mechanical ventilation heat recovery, solar water heating, photovoltaic panels, air source heat pumps and low embodied carbon materials.
Ultimately we hope to create a property that embodies low carbon living and respond to the local authority’s declaration of a Climate Emergency.
