New studio on site

Having received planning permission, work on our new studio has started on site. We are converting a steel framed barn into a Passiv-standard studio space which we hope to complete towards the autumn of this year. The conversion will reuse the existing structural elements of the barn – the frame, floor slab and in large part the concrete block walls. We will re-clad the exterior of the building in metal cladding and construct a very sustainable timber structure internally with refurbishment and reuse at its core.

A significant part of the development we will be an extensive re-landscaping and re-wilding of the site to form a bio-diverse environment. We intend to plant around 5000m2 of native and species rich woodland along with a wild-flower meadow planted between them to create a wildlife and insect oasis.

We’ve stripped back and reinforced the existing frame and a thin layer of levelling screed has now been poured.
