A key consideration for the client was to make the most of the steeply sloping site and create a connection between the building and the garden. The garden is north facing but sits on the edge of a large clearing which borders woodland. The client’s have worked hard to increase the bio-diversity by including native and wildflower species.
The house is built using a timber frame and Passivhaus standards of design. This includes high levels of insulation and air-tightness. Alu-clad, triple glazed timber windows will contribute to lifetime energy demands which will be efficient and cost effective.
