Project Type New Build

Project Status Built

A sneak preview of a new, low energy home built in to an Oxfordshire hillside. It is designed to reference the piers of a nearby Victorian viaduct using characterful local ironstone paired with Corten ‘weathering steel’, and a rooftop wildflower meadow helps it blend in to its surroundings.

Inside, a power-floated low cement concrete floor and textured lime plastered walls create a calm, healthy environment. Passivhaus levels of airtightness and insulation, MVHR, solar thermal hot water and a wood pellet boiler all go towards making this a sustainability exemplar.
