We have just gained planning approval on a project in Oxfordshire where our clients wanted to extend and improve this barn that had originally been converted in the 1990s. The proposal catches the original barn between two related single storey volumes which will share their materials – dry laid stone, untreated hardwood, lead and glass. One extends the kitchen into a pavilion like family/dining room, the other links the original house with a studio and playroom in a converted garage.
