Planning approval has been given to a very exciting project; an ultra sustainable office development for an ethical investment company.
The ambition of the client is to combine three main areas. Working environment, sustainability and community. Taken together, these principles represent a holistic approach to the design process. They reflect a civic-minded, young, and ambitious company looking to grow harmoniously with the local community over the next 20-30 years.
The proposal seeks to convert and extend two post-war agricultural barns in to working spaces and overnight accommodation, and also the see the wilding of the 24acre site to create a biodiversity-enriched landscape.
The scheme will provide staff with a high quality work place creating an exemplar of sustainable office design in terms of both embodied energy and in-use energy, an entire site focused on regenerative agriculture and wilding, and serve the needs of the wider community.
