Having helped the client to secure one of the first plots on the Graven Hill self-build development in North Oxfordshire we now have sketches of the proposed new-build brick house. The stepped facade and section allow for an impressive street presence at the front elevation contrasting with a human-scale back garden facade. It takes its inspiration from 1950s MOD buildings, ugly but beautiful.
As the first large scale self-build development in the UK, Graven Hill will challenge the current approach to developer-led housing schemes by providing more people with the opportunity to build their own home.
